Three robots. One scientific question.

What is established
NASA describes a scouting drone, a rover that maps with lidar and a rover with a sampling arm. In one test, the drone kept its original objective while bringing another asset into an additional investigation. Human experts supplied the initial science goals.
The Cereal reading
The distinction between a clever individual and a useful team is easy to miss in a short demonstration. Our reading is that the most interesting interface may be the one between the robots: how they pass observations, uncertainty and responsibility among themselves.
A future evaluation could deliberately give the fleet a tempting distraction, a conflicting observation and an unavailable teammate. The point would not be to make it fail for entertainment. It would be to learn whether its priorities remain understandable when the tidy test becomes untidy.
For readers building ordinary business automation, there is a useful analogy here. Separate the job of noticing from the job of deciding, and make the handoff inspectable. That is our design lesson, not a claim that a terrestrial software workflow faces the same risks as a space mission.
WATCH: A field trial can establish a promising direction without proving readiness for a distant world. The next meaningful evidence would clarify performance across repeated scenarios and explain the boundaries of autonomous action.
