AI found a narrower door into finance.

WHAT HAPPENED
Anthropic launched Claude for Financial Advisors, a set of tools connecting Claude with investment analytics and wealth-management systems. The announced integrations include software and data associated with BlackRock, Charles Schwab, Addepar, Envestnet, iCapital, Orion, Wealthbox, Wealth.com and Zocks.
The target is not autonomous investing. It is the work surrounding an adviser’s judgment: preparing for meetings, reviewing portfolios and handling follow-up work. That distinction matters because professional AI products become more useful when they fit an existing chain of responsibility instead of pretending to replace it.
THE MONEY-MAKING NICHE
The lesson travels beyond wealth management. A small AI business does not need to build a universal assistant. It can map one repeated, expensive workflow in one profession—collecting scattered inputs, preparing a structured brief, drafting routine follow-up and leaving the accountable decision with a human.
A practical test: choose a niche where errors matter, data arrives in predictable forms and professionals already pay people to assemble information. Sell saved preparation time and better organization, not “AI.” Security, audit trails and human approval are part of the product, not optional polish.
Build narrow workflow tools with explicit review points. Avoid automated recommendations in regulated domains unless qualified experts own the decision.
