Cereal Recipe - PUFFED RICE BALLS

PUFFED RICE BALLS

      1 1/2 cups sugar
      1 1/2 cups brown sugar
      1 cup light corn syrup
      1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
      1/4 pound margarine
      1/2 teaspoon soda
      1 pound (16 ounces) puffed rice cereal

Mix together all ingredients but the soda and puffed rice. Cook to soft-ball stage (a few drops of the syrup make a soft ball when put in a cup of cold water).
     
Add soda and stir. Pour syrup mixture over puffed rice and mix. Make into balls. Makes 2 dozen.
