Honey Nut Cheerios was introduced in 1979, and quickly became a favorite among families by combining the great taste of whole grain oat cereal, along with golden honey and almonds. But more recently, families discovered a whole new reason to love Honey Nut Cheerios, because it also contains soluble fiber. As part of a heart-healthy eating plan, the soluble fiber in Honey Nut Cheerios can help lower cholesterol. Honey Nut Cheerios is certified by the American Heart Association, as it meets the Association's food criteria for saturated fat and cholesterol for healthy people over age 2.
The mascot for honey nut cheerios is named BuzzBee. His catch phrase is
“It's a honey of an O, it's Honey Nut Cheerios".
